Alert on human trafficking due to the humanitarian emergency in Ukraine

We care about your safety!

If during the departure, the journey, or the arrival in Spain, you have been contacted by people with suspicious intentions, please communicate it to the specialized and properly identified personnel who are assisting you, or call the contact telephone numbers.

Especially if you have experienced any of these situations:

• Someone has supported you in a seemingly altruistic way during the departure and transfer to Spain and you think they can ask you for something in return. Or you have already been informed that you have an outstanding debt.
• A person asks for your money and / or documentation because he offers to process your residence and work permit, outside the official centers managed by the National Police, or because he offers to hide them in a safe place.
• Someone has asked you for photos, personal data or locations through your mobile phone or email with the intention of contacting you, offering help or meeting you in Spain.
• You have suffered abuse, threats or violence while leaving Ukraine or transiting to Spain.
  A person offers to come looking for you with the promise of accommodation and / or a job, but has not identified himself and / or has not provided you with specific data of the work or promised accommodation, or when you ask him does not give you the information you need.
• Someone has offered you to practice prostitution as a means to earn money easily and quickly so that you can get ahead as soon as possible.
• One or more individuals want to meet you somewhere in the city, away from the center of attention and the professionals who provide assistance and protection.
• Someone shows a strange interest for your sons or daughters, or for other minors during the trip or in the center.
• Someone has given you precise indications about what you should do and who you should contact in Spain. You feel that you have not been able to make your own decisions, or you feel that if you do not obey the instructions something bad can happen to you or your loved ones.
• You have been contacted or have been contacted by pages or groups on the Internet that offer you help outside the official channels, and you do not know who is behind or what they will ask you in return.

With this information we want to warn you of the danger of individuals and criminal human trafficking networks that aim to capture and exploit people (especially women and minors) in Spain.

Trafficking in persons can take place for different purposes: sexual exploitation, labor exploitation in any sector, exploitation in forced begging, exploitation forcing the person to commit crimes, or trafficking for forced marriage, among others.

If you identify with any of these situations or with others that do not make you feel safe, we want to help you. If you are in a center, immediately contact a duly identified professional.
