The Official State Gazette (BOE) today publishes the Resolution calling for the holding of the 146th º Course on the European Union to be held from 4 May to 9 July 2026, from Monday to Thursday and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., in the Diplomatic School (Paseo de Juan XXIII no. 5, 28040 Madrid), under the face-to-face modality. Exceptionally, some papers may be developed in modality online if the Diplomatic School or the rapporteur so requests. At the end, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation issue a diploma participants who have maintained a 90th Attendance % to the course, punctuality in such attendance and pass an evaluation exercise, which may take the form of a final examination or work to be carried out on one of the subjects of the programme.

Course content:

– Historical development of European integration.

– Political and legal system of the European Union.

– Policies of the European Union.

– External action of the European Union.

– Spain in the European Union.

– The current challenges facing the Union.

Celebration:

From May 4 to July 9, 2026, from Monday to Thursday and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Diplomatic School (Paseo de Juan XXIII, n.º 5, 28040 Madrid), under the face-to-face modality. Exceptionally, some presentations may be held online if the Diplomatic School or the speaker so required.

Applications:

Basic requirements:

– University Degree, Bachelor's Degree, Architecture, Engineering or equivalent (in the case of providing higher education degrees awarded by foreign institutions, these must be accompanied by an official translation into Spanish, English or French).

– Have a good knowledge of the Spanish language.

Presentation:

The request will be made in the form of a letter, in print, in .pdf format preferably, stating the specific reasons that motivate it, the expected usefulness of the course and the confirmation of the availability to attend the course in Madrid.

The following must be attached:

– Curriculum vitae with photograph, written in Spanish, indicating the place and date of birth, nationality, address, telephone numbers and e-mail address;

– Photocopy of the university degree or payment of fees for its issue.

Place and time limit for submission:

Applications may be submitted by sending all scanned documentation to the email address escuela.cursosue@maec.es or by any of the forms prescribed in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations. The Course Secretariat may request the originals at any time, before the end of the course.

The deadline for submission shall be 10 working days from the day following publication of the decision in the Official State Gazette.

Admission criteria:

Being the limited number of places to ensure the usefulness of the course, in the selection of candidates who meet the requirements, their academic and professional curriculum will be assessed, taking into account previous training, trajectory and experience, as well as the reasons alleged to participate in the course in the motivation letter taking into account interest and involvement. Likewise, the assessment of applicants will take into account the fact that they are nationals of a Member State of the European Union, of a candidate State, of a State to which the European Union has recognized its aspiration to become a member of it or of a Latin American country or with particular ties to Spain.
